Bus

Buses and trams crisscross major urban areas such as Kyiv, Odessa, and Kharkiv. In some cities, you pay the fare as you board; in others, purchase tickets at kiosks or at newspaper/tobacco stands. In most cities, there is no public transport other than taxis between 1a.m. and 5a.m.

Buses are usually quite crowded and not particularly clean. They are inexpensive, though, and travelers can also find buses operating between most cities as well. If your journey is not long, it may prove as efficient as the train, although not as comfortable.
